Hi, I’m Teresa (b. 1993) —aka Bonerita, a Mexican-American artist based in Las Vegas, Nevada. I’m passionate about blending art and photography in experimental ways, exploring different techniques, and telling stories through my work. For me, keeping memories alive means preserving special moments over time using a variety of methods.

As a self-described Modpodge artist, I combine various mediums to create exciting and unconventional work. I’m always looking for new ways to push boundaries and challenge traditional approaches.

When I’m not immersed in my art, you can usually find me gaming. Animal Crossing is my go-to for its charming, cozy aesthetic, but I’ll admit it—I’m also hooked on League of Legends. Bot diff, anyone?

Thanks for stopping by!

I'm fascinated by storytelling and the many ways we can interpret and preserve memories. In my series Passenger Princess in 3D, I turn digital images into Polaroids, then extract the exposure and place them on resin-printed topographic maps. This adds a tangible quality and connects specific memories to a physical landscape, weaving my life story into my art.

I love wearing many hats in my creative process. Whether I’m crafting costumes, doing makeup, or designing sets, I thrive on experimentation. For my Horror photo series, I made the witch costumes, helped with makeup, and built the sets, which let me fully realize my vision. By mixing different media into my photography, I explore unconventional materials and techniques, opening up new storytelling possibilities.

My art is all about conveying stories and preserving moments while pushing the boundaries of traditional approaches. Working in series and using multiple mediums enriches my storytelling and reflects my desire to explore. I’m always thinking about the “what ifs”—what if I try this? What if I take a different approach? What happens if I combine these elements? Ultimately, I hope my work encourages viewers to reflect on their own memories, and the stories they carry, and to have fun with the creative process.
